Police Arrest Bandit Seen Flaunting Guns in Viral Video, Recover AK-47, Cash - Gist Cent

 

The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a major breakthrough with the arrest of two suspected bandits and kidnapping kingpins linked to violent crimes across Katsina, Zamfara, Niger, and Kwara states.

The suspects were arrested during a covert operation carried out by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID–IRT) in collaboration with the Kwara State Police Command along the Komen–Masallaci axis in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to TVC News, the suspects were identified as Abubakar Usman, also known as Siddi, aged 26, and Shehu Mohammadu, also known as Gide, aged 30. Items recovered from them included a brand-new Honda Ace 125 motorcycle allegedly purchased with ransom proceeds, ₦500,000 cash suspected to be unspent ransom money, and one AK-47 rifle with a magazine containing 20 rounds of live ammunition.

The report stated that police investigations revealed the suspects are part of a dangerous criminal network responsible for banditry and kidnapping activities across several northern states, and that the gang also supplies arms and ammunition to other criminal elements.

It was further disclosed that the suspects are currently cooperating with investigators to aid the arrest of other gang members and the recovery of additional weapons.

TVC News also reported that Abubakar Usman was recently identified as the individual seen in a viral video circulating on social media, where firearms and large sums of money were openly displayed.
