Adamu Garba condemns Sen. Ekweremadu's jail term in UK

Former presidential aspirant and Nigerian politician, Adamu Garba, has condemned the recent jail term handed to Senator Ike Ekweremadu in UK. In a statement, Garba expressed his concerns over the weakness of Nigeria's system and the stenches of colonialism that allowed such a situation to occur.

Garba questioned how a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria could serve a jail term in a foreign land, stating that no European country would allow such a situation. He called for Ekweremadu's repatriation back to Nigeria to face the Nigerian court and be sanctioned by Nigerian law.

Garba saw the incident as an assault to Nigeria's sovereignty, laws and the status of the country's statehood in the international sphere. He urged the Nigerian government to take decisive actions to prevent such occurrences in the future.

"If not for weakness of our system and stenches of colonialism, how can a Senator of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Ike Ekweremadu serve a jail term in the foreign land?

Would America, the UK or any European country allow that?

No matter the offense, he deserve to be repatriated back to Nigeria, face Nigeria court and be sanctioned by the Nigeria law.
I see this as an assault to our sovereignty, laws and the status of our statehood in the international sphere."
