Peter Obi salutes Nigerian workers, urges productivity and nation-building

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and the standard bearer of the Labour Party in the 2019 Nigerian presidential election, has sent a message of felicitation to Nigerian workers on the occasion of Workers' Day celebration. The day is observed every year on May 1 to celebrate the contributions of workers to the economy and society.

In his message, Obi called on workers to hold onto those values that encourage productivity in the nation and urged them to remain steadfast. He noted that the task of nation-building was for everyone and that Nigeria would grow and develop more if Nigerians understood this fact. He also admonished Nigerian workers to see their jobs as channels for contributing to nation-building.

Obi saluted the hardworking workforce of Nigeria and encouraged them to remain focused on building a more productive and prosperous nation. He noted that Nigeria is gifted with a hardworking workforce, desirous of the country's development. Despite the poor workers' welfare condition in the nation, Obi saluted workers for continuing to labour for the nation.

Furthermore, he encouraged workers not to be disheartened by the many challenges that, according to him, pervade the economic and political space of the nation. Instead, he urged everyone to remain focused on building a more productive and prosperous nation, which, he said, was part of the offerings of the New Nigeria.

"I want to assure you that the forces of darkness that have held this nation bound for long, will not continue to have their way. We are determined to take back our nation for good and we are not giving up. I urge you all to remain steadfast. The sun of justice, peace, and development will soon shine on our nation," Obi concluded.

Obi's message is a timely reminder of the importance of workers in nation-building and a call for workers to remain focused on building a more productive and prosperous nation despite the challenges. His message is an inspiration to Nigerian workers and a challenge to the government to prioritize workers' welfare and create an enabling environment for them to contribute to nation-building.
