Look no further!

Getting into a higher learning institution in Nigeria can be an anxiety-filled experience as everyone waits for the admission lists to be published. Both students and parents are on the edge of their seats. In this guide, we'll take a closer look at the admission lists of different Nigerian institutions and offer valuable tips for aspiring students.

What is an Admission List?

In simple terms, an admission list is an official document that shows the names of candidates who have met the requirements of an educational institution and have been provisionally accepted to join that institution.

The Process of Releasing Admission Lists in Nigeria

In Nigeria, the process of releasing admission lists generally follows these steps:

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME): Organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), this is the main exam that all aspiring students must take.

Post-UTME: After passing the UTME, most institutions in Nigeria conduct their own screening tests for further evaluation.

Ranking & Selection: Institutions use the scores from both the UTME and post-UTME exams to rank candidates and make their selections for admission.

Publication of the Admission List

Publication of the Admission List usually happens through these methods:

Via the Institution’s Website: Many educational institutions have online portals dedicated to admissions. To check your admission status, you can enter your JAMB registration number or other required details on these portals. Some institutions may also display the admission list on the school’s notice board.

Via JAMB CAPS: JAMB introduced the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) to simplify admission processes. Through CAPS, you can monitor your admission status and accept or decline admission offers.

A Helpful Tip: Because the admission process can change quickly, it's important to bookmark this page. By regularly checking back, you can stay informed about which institutions have released their admission lists.

Here are the institutions in Nigeria and details about their admission lists:

Universities and Their Admission Lists

The Truth and How to Do It" />

Many students preparing for the 2024 UTME are asking: "Can I sign up for JAMB without an email?" This question has become more important since JAMB made email addresses mandatory for registration. In this post, we'll explore whether it's possible to register for JAMB without an email and explain how to do it.

Why is Email Address Compulsory for JAMB Registration?

JAMB requires you to have an email address for UTME registration so they can communicate with you and verify your information. They need your email for these reasons:

To set up and activate your eFacility account on the JAMB Portal.

To get and print your UTME profile code, examination slip, and result slip.

To use the JAMB CAPS for checking admission status and accepting offers.

To receive important information and updates from JAMB.

Provide your National Identification Number (NIN), phone number, and other personal details to the registration officer.

The officer will generate a UTME profile code and send it to your phone via SMS.

They'll create an eFacility account for you on the JAMB portal using your phone number as the username and a password you choose.

The officer will then use the UTME profile code and ePIN to finish your registration on the JAMB portal.

You'll need to provide your biometric data, passport photograph, and select your preferred institutions and courses.

Additionally, candidates need a National Identification Number (NIN), a phone number, and an ePIN to complete the registration process. If candidates have already registered for JAMB, they can log into the JAMB portal using their phone number and password, bypassing the need for an email address.

Furthermore, candidates have the option to change their email address or send their NIN by visiting the nearest JAMB office or accredited registration center.
When is JAMB Change of Institution Closing in 2024?

The closing date for JAMB change of institution in 2024 has not been announced by JAMB management. Typically, based on previous years, the change of institution closes a few weeks before the admission process begins at various tertiary institutions. Therefore, it's recommended to make changes on JAMB Portal 2 as early as possible to avoid missing out on the opportunity.

Can I Do Change of Institution After Accepting Admission on JAMB Portal 2?

No, you cannot change your institution after accepting admission on JAMB Portal 2. Accepting an admission offer on JAMB CAPS automatically forfeits any other admission offers from other institutions. Therefore, only accept an admission offer if you are certain about studying in that institution. If you're unsure, you can reject the admission offer and apply for a change of institution on JAMB portal 2.

Can Cyber Cafe Do Change of Institution on JAMB Portal 2 in 2024?

No, cyber cafes cannot perform a change of institution on JAMB Portal 2 in 2024. JAMB has prohibited cyber cafes from offering any JAMB-related services, including registration, correction of data, and change of course or institution. This measure aims to prevent fraud and impersonation by unscrupulous cyber cafe operators. Therefore, it's essential to visit accredited JAMB CBT centres or JAMB offices to carry out change of institution on JAMB Portal 2 in 2024.

How Many Times Can I Do Change of Institution on JAMB Portal 2 and What are the Implications?

You can change your institution on JAMB Portal 2 twice in 2024, once before and once after the UTME exam. However, there are implications to consider:

You may lose your chance of admission in your first choice institution if you switch to another one.

You may not meet the cut-off mark or requirements of your new choice if it's more competitive.

Changing late could cause you to miss the deadline for post-UTME screening or admission processes.

Changing to an institution that doesn't offer your desired course or that you're not eligible for could result in wasted time and money.

The JAMB Mock Exam: What You Need to Know

The JAMB mock exam is like a practice test for the real UTME. It helps you get a feel for what the actual exam will be like. Even though how you do in the mock exam doesn't affect your eligibility for the main exam, it's still really helpful. It can show you where you're doing well and where you need to improve.

Key Point: Doing well in the mock exam doesn't guarantee you'll do well in the UTME. Your actual UTME score is what matters for getting into university. So, keep preparing, even if you do well in the mock exam.

Guided Steps to Access Your JAMB Mock Result

Checking via SMS (offline method)

To access your results through SMS:

Conclusion:

The JAMB mock exam is an important practice test for UTME candidates. Even though it's not required for the main exam, learning from how you did in the mock test can really help you study better.

Following the steps to check your JAMB mock result can make things easier and give you useful feedback to improve your study plan.
In a post shared on X, Joey said that songs being released in 2024 by Nigerian artists are ‘’bad,'' and it hasn't been this bad since 2018.

He wrote;

‘’This is the worst batch of music we’ve had since 2018.

Nigerian music suffered a blip in 2023, releasing comparatively vapid music, with many unable to fight at home or abroad for space.

And now, in 2024, after going through a month of heartbreaking new music Friday, I’ve overcome my sadness at the lack of any new great find.

In its place, lies a new occupant — concern.

I’m bothered by
the quality of our music. Amapiano played its parts, but after the oversaturation of the market last year, we can’t seem to find anything inspirational to wean us off it, and usher in a new era.

Trends are great as long as they continue to provide objectively great art. Amapiano seems to have run its course.

And we’re struggling badly. Everywhere you turn, bad music hits you. The air and playlists are filled with the same formulaic slop, same bounce, same scenarios and themes. Everything is negatively samey.

People aren’t copying the right things anymore.

While I blame our cultural engagement with Amapiano for its role, I also factor in the lack of hunger in our established (blown) artistic class, due to Afrobeats to the world flooding the market with unrealized investment. Everyone’s chilling and dropping the same music.

Or worse, microwaving a hackneyed vibe.

The result, an overstimulated consumer, hazy from the abundance of art, but finding very little of value to them. That’s why the audience isn’t picking up on the music. Your wavelength isn’t giving.

I don’t know how to end this. But New Music Friday doesn’t slap like it used to. The one place I go to find joy has become corrupted by repetition.

The past is currently looking better than the future, and I fear that we might have peaked in this cycle.''
GistCenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04134692404833312408noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3415721790868030319.post-45425957823801254492024-02-23T12:16:00.000+00:002024-02-23T12:16:59.090+00:00 Father drowns trying to rescue son from well in Kwara State

Kwara State Fire Service has recovered the body of a 49-year-old man, Fasasi Afeez, who drowned while trying to rescue his 12-year-old son from a domestic well in Offa town.

The Minister spoke on Thursday, Feb. 22, when the Chief of Army Staff (CAS), Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, visited and appealed for his intervention over the debt burden. The Army Chief had described blackouts in army barracks and cantonments as security threats. Quoting the Minister, Special Adviser, Strategic Communication and Media Relations, Bolaji Tunji reiterated the importance of liquidity and funding in the sector, adding the debts could not be written off but the Minister would intervene in order to restructure the debt payment if there was assurance of regular payment by the Nigerian Army.

Adelabu further revealed that debt owed by distribution and generating companies (GENCOs) is not the only challenge bedevilling the power sector. He added that vandalization of power infrastructure, which often leads to national grid collapse, theft, inefficiency in billing and collection processes, poor metering gaps, liquidity, shortages in gas supply, and transmission stations being blown up with explosives in volatile areas, are all part of the issues being experienced in the power sector.

<ins class="adsbygoogle adsbygoogle-noablate" data-ad-client="ca-pub-2427099653703778" data-ad-format="auto" data-ad-status="unfilled" data-adsbygoogle-status="done">

”The fundamental issues in the power sector value chain could be traced back to the last 50 years, and a government that is barely eight months old cannot use a magic wand to propose a solution. There is a saying that you won’t know what is happening in Rome until you get there," he said.

The Minister, who acknowledged that power outages are not peculiar to army barracks but a national issue, said the DISCOs and GENCOs are profit-oriented organizations, and “we can only plead with them to adopt a repayment plan on a monthly basis instead of embedding the whole debt in their meter.

While encouraging the Army to continue assisting the Ministry in safeguarding power facilities across the nation, the Minister pledged to seek collaboration with the Army through any of the development partners for the installation of solar PVs and battery energy storage systems (BESS) as an alternative power supply in Army barracks and cantonments.

Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff disclosed that the main reason for the visit was to discuss the consequences of the power outage in army formations and the way forward.

Lagbaja regretted that some barracks and cantonments have been in total blackout since January.

He said, “Debt owed is loaded on the meter, so no matter the amount of credit we put, the meters pick it up automatically.

"Corpses in the Army mortuaries are decomposing, and the owners of the corpses are protesting.”

Tinubu who spoke in Abuja on Thursday, February 22, when he hosted a delegation from the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) led by Florizelle Liser, its president and chief executive officer (CEO), stated that he has a good team in place to ensure the economic reforms yield positive results.

He said;

“I am happy that the council is interested in various segments of Nigeria’s economy. We are right in the middle of a challenging stage of our reforms. We have headwinds, no doubt, but we are not going back.

“We are challenged, and we believe we will overcome the challenges. I have a can-do attitude that must be translated into a must-do attitude.

“We have a good team, and we must remain focused to get the goal accomplished.”

Tinubu also said his administration would do more in the education sector because it is the best tool against poverty. He added;

“We are going to do more on security and investing in education, as we believe that education is the greatest weapon against poverty. We welcome partners like CCA, and we will strengthen our partnership to achieve our goals.”
GistCenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04134692404833312408noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3415721790868030319.post-74982608169991500332024-02-22T13:26:00.000+00:002024-02-22T13:31:17.149+00:00Lagos announces 25% discount on BRT

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the state will resume a 25% reduction on public transportation in the state.

In a live media chat with journalists on Thursday, the governor said, “Almost immediately from this weekend, we’re throwing back a 25% reduction on all public transportation.

“We’re working with the various unions to ensure that we also can support them.
